Founders self-report their founding year when they submit to Startup Spotlight. We don't independently verify it, but it lines up with the directory listing date for the vast majority of submissions.
What counts as a "2025 startup"?
Any active startup whose founder reported 2025 as the founding year. This includes pre-revenue launches, soft launches, and full public launches — anything that was publicly buildable in 2025.
