Frequently asked

What counts as a solo-founder startup?

We use the founder-reported team size. A team of 1–10 is included here — most are actually solo, with one or two part-time contractors. We deliberately do not include companies with co-founders larger than that.

Are these businesses profitable?

Many are. Startup Spotlight doesn't verify revenue directly, but the solo-founder cohort tends to be cash-flow-focused — most of the founders publicly share MRR on X or IndieHackers.
